Michael Evans
Michael Evans has been actively performing, recording and composing for many years. As well as being an accomplished drummer and percussionist, he works with unusual sound sources including homemade instruments, found objects and items not normally used musically.
He has worked with a variety of musicians, artists, poets, performance artists and sound-jugglers, including the Audio Artists, Jac Berrocal, James Chance, Code International, Combustible Edison, Lol Coxhill, Roger Ely (Devil's Chauffeur), Fast Forward (Gobo), GenKen Montgomery, Michael Gira (Swans, Angels of Light), God Is My Co-Pilot, Alex Hacke (Einsturzende Neubauten), Jarboe (Swans), Lary Seven, Maxime De La Rochefoucauld (Automates Ki), Neil Leonard, Aimee Mann, Karen Mantler's Pet Project, Sean Meehan, Gordon Monahan (Bauhoota Klangzeit 2000), Evan Parker, William Parker, David Simons, Steven Vitiello and Jason Willet.
A self proclaimed lover of many different styles of music, his latest obsession is to research the history of one- man bands, and eventually create one himself. With this as his inspiration, he has spent a lot of time developing his virtuosity as a solo percussionist.
